The Hill kicked off White House Correspondents’ Association (WHCA) dinner weekend in elegant style on Friday — as some of Washington’s biggest movers and shakers gathered to celebrate the First Amendment. Hundreds of bipartisan political VIPs came together at the National Portrait Gallery for The Hill’s “Politics Without Prejudice: A Toast to Freedom of the Press.” The exclusive soiree sponsored by the National Retail Federation helped to launch a flurry of Correspondents’ dinner-related shindigs ahead of the Saturday event. James Finkelstein, chairman of The Hill, played host to a virtual who

Democratic fundraiser Matt Tompkins has filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission to establish the For the People PAC, with the aim of raising tens of millions of dollars to support Biden’s White House bid. The super PAC will run local and national media ads for Biden and ensure he’ll have an activist network in all 50 states as he seeks to maintain his standing at the top of the polls in the Democratic primary.

Throughout the 2012 presidential election cycle, Biden routinely claimed that “General Motors is alive” following the Obama administration’s $11 billion taxpayer bailout of the company in 2009. Years after the bailout, Biden and officials with the Obama administration not only touted Barra’s leadership at GM but invited her to the State of the Union Address in 2014 and

The guy has been in Washington and part of the problem for more than 45 years, yet all he has to offer now is that he is not Donald Trump. Just like every single other Democrat seeking the nomination. Even more disgusting is Mr. Biden’s willingness to politicize a tragic event in which three innocent people were killed in order to advance his own political career. This should come as little surprise, I suppose.

On Tuesday, an Amazon corporate Twitter account responded to breaking up big tech companies by using Amazon as an example. In its tweet, Amazon said, “We don’t use individual sellers’ data to launch private label products (which account for only about 1% of sales).

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump said Wednesday he’ll go directly to the U.S. Supreme Court ‘‘if the partisan Dems’’ ever try to impeach him. But Trump’s strategy could run into a roadblock: the high court itself, which said in 1993 that the framers of the U.S. Constitution didn’t intend for the courts to have the power to review impeachment proceedings. The Supreme Court ruled that impeachment and removal from office is Congress’ duty alone. ‘‘I DID NOTHING WRONG,’’ Trump tweeted.

GOP presidential candidate Bill Weld is calling on President Trump to resign from office in the wake of Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian election interference and obstruction of justice, calling him “a one-man crime wave.” Writing in the conservative website The Bulwark, Weld, the former Massachusetts governor, argues that the Mueller report exposed a serious credibility problem for Trump. “How can a president function if he instinctively lies to not only the public but to his own staff?
