Uber is reeling from a new controversy over revelations that the company tried to cover up a massive breach last year in which hackers pilfered information from 57 million of its customers. As a result of the hack, the ride-share company now faces probes from multiple state attorneys general, as well as international regulators in Europe. The concerns are not only limited to the breach itself; the strongest ire is coming from regulators over how Uber handled the cyberattack.

President Trump’s feud with CNN is casting a shadow over the Justice Department’s lawsuit to block AT&T from merging with Time Warner, the news outlet’s parent company. The Justice Department’s decision to bring a lawsuit against a vertical merger — a deal involving two companies that aren’t direct competitors — is a major shift in antitrust policy from previous administrations. To those who have been raising the alarm about corporate consolidation, the move is long overdue, and a sign that regulators in the Trump administration won't be a rubber stamp for such major deals.  But AT&T a

I’ve reviewed the allegations against him, and they’re as credible as they are repulsive,” she said in a statement. Senate Republicans are at odds with President Trump over Roy Moore and the Alabama Senate race. Trump broke more than a week of silence on Tuesday by raising doubt about the allegations of sexual misconduct facing Moore, contradicting Senate Majority Leader MORE (R-Ky.) and other Senate Republicans. Trump pushed back on a reporter who asked how he felt about electing a “child molester” by noting that Moore “totally denies it.” The Alabama Republican became embroiled in scandal after The Washington Post reported that he initiated a sexual encounter with a

One result of moviemaking — and a side effect of moviegoing — is familiarity. If an actor is particularly good, familiarity opens into something deeper: care, concern, identification, empathy. Yet even those concepts can feel inadequate for some actors. For them, you feel something like ardor, because plain old love won’t suffice. That, for many years, was what I felt for Annabella Sciorra — utter ardor. It was inexplicable.

This will be anathema to stage purists, but here goes: I like watching theater on television. Of course, it is not the real thing. There is no smell of the greasepaint, no roar of the crowd. There is no sense of the actors’ physical presence, their breathing and sweat, the way they physically interact with one another. There is no communal joy. But there is theater, and that is something. For many of us growing up in the analog era without access to the stage, television was the only resource.

The amount of advice for traveling with kids can be overwhelming. But like most of us grown-ups, children often become good travelers through a lucky mix of nature and nurture: Some kids are flexible, some crave a routine, and some are just completely thrown off kilter by the travails of delayed planes, any change in schedule, and jet lag. Nonetheless, here are five ways to make the time away from home easier for kids — and adults. Don’t overload your itinerary, but let everyone pick an activity.
