The White House has asked Congress to conduct a walk-through of MORE’s (D-Calif.) request to reschedule it. Trump’s staff sent a letter to the House Sergeant-at-Arms asking to schedule a dry run for the annual speech, the White House confirmed on Tuesday. A previously scheduled walk-through was postponed last week amid bickering over the date between Trump and Pelosi. The letter was first reported by Fox News. Pelosi last week asked Trump to delay the speech scheduled for Jan. 29, citing security concerns caused by the partial government shutdown.

The Supreme Court handed MORE a partial win on Tuesday, allowing the administration to temporarily enforce its restrictions on transgender people serving in the military. The court ruled 5-4 to stay two district court orders that blocked the new policy, with the court’s liberal wing dissenting. The justices said they are waiting for the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to weigh in. “The department is pleased with the orders issued by the Supreme Court today,” Pentagon spokeswoman Lt. Col. Carla Gleason said in a statement.

Senate leadership on Tuesday struck an agreement to vote on dueling proposals to reopen the federal government. Senate Majority Leader MORE (R-Ky.) set up two votes for Thursday afternoon, both of which will require 60 votes to advance. The first vote will be on MORE's proposal to reopen the government, provide $5.7 billion in funding for the border wall and extend legal protections to some immigrants for three years.
