President Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, was grilled by a panel of US House representatives on Wednesday, with Massachusetts Democrats Ayanna Pressley and Stephen Lynch getting their fair share of hits in, and Boston University graduate Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez raising questions about Trump’s tax returns. Speaking toward the first half of the Cohen hearing, Lynch fired back at GOP congressmen who were calling the former Trump attorney a liar. Lynch shot back while addressing Cohen, saying committee Republicans ‘‘aren’t afraid you’re going to lie.

Vice President Pence rushed to the Senate on Tuesday in a last-ditch effort to convince GOP senators to oppose a resolution approved by the House that would block MORE’s emergency declaration to build a wall on the Mexican border. Pence lunched with Senate Republicans hours before the House vote, but remarks after the meeting pointed to the tall task he and the White House face in stopping the resolution. Senate Majority Leader MORE (R-Ky.) went as far as saying that he’s not sure the declaration is legal, a statement unlikely to give pause t

MORE’s former personal attorney Michael Cohen testifies in public. The stakes are high for Cohen’s appearance before the House Oversight and Reform Committee. According to a New York Times report on Tuesday, he will accuse Trump of potentially criminal conduct as well as the use of racist language. His testimony could embarrass the president in the middle of Trump’s Hanoi summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un — and might provoke a volcanic response. But if Cohen’s testimony will inevitably garner plenty of headlines a
