And Mr. Ramirez cannot forget the awful images either, as he and his girlfriend, Rosanne Solis, huddled in fear inside the First Baptist Church. “The monster was carrying two weapons, and aimed specifically at the little children,” said Mr. Ramírez in Spanish, shivering as he remembered how the tragedy unfolded. “I was next to the pastor’s daughter when the assailant killed her,” said Mr. Ramírez, referring to Annabelle Pomeroy, 14, the daughter of Frank Pomeroy. “I don’t know how the shooter got such weapons. I don’t know how he had such cruelty in his heart.” “But I tell all the parents in this world: hug your children today,” said Mr. Ramírez, 50, an immigrant from Mexico. “Love your children.
