A morning workout is, in my opinion, the best way to start your day. But a few hours later after settling in at work, it hits you: the burning quads, tight hammies, the arms that feel like spaghetti. It’s the price we pay for a solid workout. For my money, the best post-workout treatment is foam rolling, which I’ve been obsessing over for months. Foam rolling is a sort of mini-massage where you roll parts of your body over a foam cylinder to relieve post-workout soreness and tightness. It can be slightly painful in that hurts-so-good kind of way, but it’s worth every second. My foam roller of choice is this one from AmazonBasics, which our friends at Wirecutter — a New York Times company — also recommend. It’s cheap(ish) and does exactly what it’s supposed to.
