The banner comes as conversations on race continue to dominate the national political climate after the white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va. last month that left one person dead. Red Sox owner John Henry announced last month that he would be open to renaming Yawkey Way, the iconic street outside the stadium named after former Red Sox owner Tom Yawkey, because of Yawkey’s racist past.
