The former vice president said he visited Detroit under Duggan’s tenure, noting a revival has taken place in the years since he was elected. “The recovery has started and I know Mayor Duggan wont quit until that recovery has spread to every Detroiter.” Detroit will host its non-partisan primary election on Tuesday. Eight candidates are in the running and the top two contenders will head to the general election in November. In a poll conducted last month, Duggan lead state Sen. Coleman Young Jr. by 34 percentage points, The Detroit News reported.
