The listening session began shortly after 1:30 p.m., according to pool reports, and was attended by top White House advisers including Kellyanne Conway and President Trump's daughter Ivanka. Secretary of Labor Alex Acosta, Small Business Administrator Linda McMahon and Special Assistant to the president and Marine Corps spouse Jennifer Korn were also at the meeting. Conway reportedly opened the event by listing statistics on military spouses, saying that 92 percent of military spouses are women and 41 percent have dependent children. Ivanka Trump added during the meeting that military wives face an unemployment rate of 16 percent. The military spouses also discussed troubles they have faced. Korn said she has had to make tough decisions as the wife of a Marine with a busy career. She and her husband lived apart for three years and she said she has had to ask, "Do I leave my career or leave my husband?"
