You get the “Jerry Springer” presidency. When Trump brought Anthony Scaramucci in as communications director, White House press secretary Sean Spicer apparently saw the writing on the wall and resigned. Good for him. Spicer knew what was coming, and wanted no part in it. Scaramucci has proven to be combative and vile, just like the man who brought him in, and trouble followed closely behind him. Throughout the week, the new communications director has been taking shots at “leakers,” and making it known that he had White House chief of staff Reince Priebus in his crosshairs. On Thursday, the New Yorker released the transcript of a conversation between Scaramucci and reporter Ryan Lizza that was so unhinged and so profane, under a normal administration, he would have been released from his duties without delay. The worst part about it was that he was targeting colleagues by name. So who did Trump let go on Friday? Well, it wasn’t Scaramucci. A Wall Street Journal article points out how the Commander-in-Chief felt about the latest, very open conflict between those on his staff.
