Article snippet: Posted at 5:12 pm on July 21, 2017 by Sarah Lee Let’s play a game. First, take an overtly left-leaning “science guy,” one who spends his time hobnobbing with progressive politicians and wagging his finger over those who would show healthy (dare I say scientifically healthy) skepticism over anthropomorphic climate change. Add a dash of hypocrisy (Nye spent Earth Day 2015 flying around in Air Force One with then-President Obama lecturing about climate change. Carbon footprint anyone?). Stir with a performance that reduced the last shreds of his reputation into tatters. And then top with word that he believes that climate change skepticism will become a thing of the past as soon as those olds who hang onto their skepticism just go ahead and die already. Would it be fair to write something about Nye’s most recent statements with a headline that reads: Bill Nye Wants Climate Change Deniers to Die! Because I seem to remember images some time ago during one of the many incarnations of the healthcare debate that had then-congressman Paul Ryan pushing granny off a cliff. Is all fair in love and policy marketing? Asking for a friend. (Anyway, I’m not sure Nye is correct that climate change skepticism dies with an older generation. Science, by its very nature, demands skepticism. Not everyone, including younger generations steeped in technology and, therefore, the basics of logic, will be so willing to deny their skepticism, Mr. Science Guy.)
