The detention lasted about 30 hours at the end of which time he was put on the next plane back to the Third World sh** hole he came from. Cute. Note how they link Trump’s travel executive order to the detention even though ICE says his detention had nothing to do with that order. What happened? Executive Order 13533 sanctions Iranian persons and organizations for terrorism and human right abuses. The list is here. One of those is the Basij militia, which is an auxiliary to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps. The guy in question in not only not a “cancer researcher” as a layman would understand the term, he’s a post-doctoral student working on someone else’s cancer research project, he is a leader of the Basij militia and has had a major role in supporting the mullahs and suppressing dissent.
