Article snippet: Democratic Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) tweeted at President Trump on Saturday, and refuted the president’s claim that the media is trying to get him to stop tweeting. “Dear dumb as a rock [Trump]: The news media LOVES that you use social media. It jacks up their ratings & helps Special Counsel,” Lieu tweeted, responding to the president’s claim the news media is trying to convince Republicans to get him to stop using social media. The president issued a tweet storm Saturday in what appeared to be a response to bipartisan outrage to his recent tweets attacking MSNBC host Mika Brzezinski.   Trump also called his use of social media “modern presidential.”     The president is under scrutiny from senior Republicans and Democrats for his highly personal attack on Brzezinski, in which he called her “crazy” and “low I.Q.,” as well as saying she was bleeding from a facelift over New Years at Mar-a-Lago. “Mr. President, your tweet was beneath the office and represents what is wrong with American politics, not the greatness of America,” Sen. MORE (R-S.C.) tweeted.     “This has to stop – we all have a job – 3 branches of gov’t and media. We don’t have to get along, but we must show respect and civility,” Sen. MORE (R-Me.) said in a tweet.  The Hill 1625 K Street, NW Suite 900 Washington DC 20006 | 202-628-8500 tel | 202-628-8503 fax The contents of this site are ©2017 Capitol Hill Publishing Corp., a subsidiary of News Communications, Inc.
