Article snippet: "Morning Joe" co-host Mika Brzezinski says she introduced President Trump and his elder daughter Ivanka to Dina Powell, the former Goldman Sachs executive that has become one of the most influential players in the Trump White House. “Dina Powell was in there because I brought her to Trump Tower and introduced her to Ivanka and Donald,” Brzezinski told The New York Times's Jim Rutenberg on Friday. “I will just say that, on camera and off, we hoped for the best.” Brzezinski explained that the anchors aimed to bring "the best admirals, the best retired generals, the best foreign police minds" onto their show in an attempt to influence Trump. She said of Trump that "it doesn’t seem like he reads much — it seems like he takes in things on TV." Powell began advising the first daughter during the presidential transition.  She eventually went on to join Trump's White House as special counselor to the president for economic issues, before ascending to the role of deputy national security adviser for strategy in March. Brzezinski's relationship with Trump, however, has grown tense in recent days after the president tweeted a personal and crude attack on the political morning show anchor.  In a pair of postings on Thursday, Trump dubbed Brzezinski "low I.Q. Crazy Mika" and suggested that she was "bleeding badly from a face-lift" during a visit to his Mar-a-Lago club last year.
