She eventually went on to join Trump's White House as special counselor to the president for economic issues, before ascending to the role of deputy national security adviser for strategy in March. Brzezinski's relationship with Trump, however, has grown tense in recent days after the president tweeted a personal and crude attack on the political morning show anchor. In a pair of postings on Thursday, Trump dubbed Brzezinski "low I.Q. Crazy Mika" and suggested that she was "bleeding badly from a face-lift" during a visit to his Mar-a-Lago club last year.
